Sorry’s are in order

My apologizes guys, the neglect has been real. I stared a new job in October last year so it’s been taking me time to get acclimated in this role. I have also been traveling all over to recruit for my job. But I’m back in action! I will try to post a couple times a week and keep this blog fresh!

I hope you guys had a great New Years and valentines day! 2017 is our year!

My hair is my hair 💁🏽

Have you ever been out or at work and get the question “why do you wear fake hair?” or  have someone tell you “your natural hair looks better.

I know all my sisters understand this. Too many times I get told, why don’t you wear your natural hair. And even though I do, I don’t need the negative comments about wearing weave. At the end of the day it’s all my hair and it gives me the opportunity to switch my hair up without damaging my natural hair. So please understand that I can’t just wake up and shake my hair and start my day…unless there was a 4 hour process done the night before lol. I love my hair whether it be real or fake so your comments are unneeded!

New perspective

Coming to you live from the BDPA Connect 16 conference in ATL! Of course I’m representing my job but also myself. Thai is the first conference I have had the privilege to attend and I can say it has changed my outlook on numerous things. As a African American female, I feel there is not a lot of diversity in today’s tech industry. I want to take a stand and help our fellow brothers and sisters push through the boundary.

I attended a workshop with Valiesha Butterfield Jones, who is in charge of black engagement at Google and she had inspired me so much to speak up. We need to help eachother and not just sit on the sidelines. I want to help bring diversity to my company as well as others.

I’ve been neglecting you guys and that’s so not like me. I apologize for that but I’ve been so motivated in my diet and workout that it’s just taken over. First off I’m down 6 pounds!!! Yes, and I didn’t have to drink a protein shake to do it. Low-carb and exercise have been my bestie for the last couple weeks. I’ve started getting better educated with what I can eat when I got out and still losing weight in the process. I’ll start sharing more guys, my life is semi interesting I think maybe not lol

Till next time – Esh

So let me tell you about my fitness journey for the last two years. May 2015 I started with herballife and although it did help me lose weight, it was so expensive and I couldn’t keep up with the products. Plus the people weren’t that friendly. I started to feel like I looked more like a dollar sign then a person to people. It got worse when instead of “how are you doing” txts, I started getting “when is your next order” and “join this challenge and buy this product” txts. I understand people make a living off of commission of these products but I’m not a product I’m a person so please treat me that way.

Once I quit Herbalife, I just started working out on my own. I gained some weight back but I’m overall happy. But I told you guys I would be committed and I am. Before is my progress pic, post herabal life on the left, middle is mid herbalife and last is now. Soon I’ll be past that middle pic and I don’t plan to to stop!!

Progress week 2-3

Guys my fitness journey is slowly on its way. I’m down two pounds and while that’s a minor victory for some that’s a HUGE victory for me. I’m counting my calories and working towards being an overall healthier me. Promise to post pics on Sunday so you can see my progress!

Moment of weakness

Guys so I’ve been working out non-stop over the last 3 weeks and honestly to me I’ve seen no difference in myself. My bf tells me he can see it but I don’t and I’m starting to get a little discouraged. The scale hasn’t moved and I really started to give up!

But then I read something about how the scale doesn’t have to move for you to lose weight. How you can be building muscle and toning and the weight can be transferred to muscles. That line there made me keep going as I see individuals doing the same workout plan I’m doing and saying the scale doesn’t always have to be the accomplishment. So guys I’m gonna go harder then before and work to drop this weight! I won’t let my insecurities or disbeliefs stop me again. Who said losing weight was easy?
